Make a Change (prod. by Andrew Meoray)

The new single is here!

“Make a Change” was produced by our old friend Andrew Meoray – who you might remember as one of the guests on our last LP, Right NowAndrew has been making a name for himself as both an artist and as a producer in the Philadelphia music scene and beyond it.  We were really excited to collaborate with him on this track.

The credits for “Make a Change”:

Shawn Mocey – vocals, rhythm guitar, keys
Andrew Meoray – lead guitar, keys, programming
Emcee Abdul – vocals
Joe Adams – vocals

(You can hear Ab and Joe join me on the choruses)

Mixed by Andrew Meoray and Shawn Mocey.  Mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering.  Published by Kiera Plan Music, BMI.  Brought to you by Awesome Records.

Want to Be in Our New Video?

2016 FB Video 2

We’d love to have you appear in a new video we’re making!

There are 3 new songs we’ll be releasing between now and June, and we have something really special in mind for one of the clips.  We’re looking for a couple dozen people to make special cameo appearances in that video.

Think you might be interested? Just e-mail us at and we’ll send you all the details about the project.  If it sounds good to you at that point, awesome!  If it doesn’t, no worries.

We’ll be able to film your cameo in just a couple minutes, and we can schedule that filming at your convenience anytime between now and March 4th.

There are some really positive messages in the new music, and we’re hoping that we can help make a difference with this project.  It’d be awesome to have you involved!

Psyched to talk more with you,

Back in the Studio

Back in 2006, my friend John Collier and I started writing, recording, and performing as The Kiera Plan.   John provided the ferocious drums on the first Kiera Plan album, Dedication.    So, as I headed back into the studio a couple weeks ago to start work on some brand new music, it was great to have John back in the mix helping put some tracks together.

This is our first time working with producer Trevor Leonard (who you might have seen performing in Punchline on their recent tour, or with his group, The End of America).

This new music is heading in a new direction, so we’re excited to have Trevor on board helping to steer the ship into these uncharted waters.

Anybody who made it out to the benefit concerts for the Whole Planet Foundation (in 2013, and this past summer) might recognize a couple very special guests who will be featured on the new music, Abdul Zarrella and Kharee Staten.  Having written and performed with these gentlemen for a while now, it’s exciting to finally be putting some tracks together in the studio!

If you missed the live-tweeting from these first couple days in the studio, check out our Instagram for pics from the sessions.

We have 3 new songs in the works, and just one or two more days in the studio to finish them up – we should be back in with Trevor sometime mid-January.  The new music will be coming your way soon after that – hopefully the first single will get released sometime in February.

For now, just to re-introduce you to John, here’s one of our favorites he did with me on the first record, “One O’clock.”

Wishing you and your loved ones all a very Merry Christmas, and all the best for a happy and healthy new year!
